Chris serves as Senior Advisor for Energy and Carbon Markets for Governor Jay Inslee in Washington State. He works on climate policy and energy and managed the Governor’s Carbon Emissions Reduction Taskforce, a diverse group of more than 25 stakeholders advising the governor on the use of market mechanisms to address carbon pollution in Washington State. Chris has more than two decades of experience in public policy and natural resource management. Prior to joining the Governor’s office, Chris was the Director of Conservation for the Nature Conservancy of Washington, where he led a team of policy advisors, scientists and field staff working on water infrastructure and working farms and forests. Chris spent 7 years working in Russia on resource management and economic development before returning to graduate school at the University of Washington.
